World Cup fever will be in full swing in Clarkstown on Sunday, July 19, when Nanuet will
host a global-themed street festival and watch party for soccer fans, families, food
lovers, and anyone looking for a fun and unique way to spend the day. In what promises
to be one of Rockland County's most exciting events of the year, I invite you all to join
me at the 2026 Rockland Global Rhythms Soccer Festival and Block Party on Main
Street in Nanuet this Sunday, beginning at 10:00am.
Timed to coincide with the championship match of the 2026 World Cup, this all-day
event will transform downtown Nanuet into an international festival of culture,
community, and a celebration of the world's most popular sport. From morning until
early evening, visitors will enjoy great food, live entertainment, family activities, and the
shared excitement of watching the championship game outdoors on a giant screen.
The festivities kick off beginning at 9:00am with a special "Kegs and Eggs" brunch at
Nanuet Restaurant, giving fans the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, fuel up for
the day, and begin celebrating before the crowds arrive. At 10:00am, the section of
Main Street between Market Street and Orchard Street will come alive with street fair-
style activities running through 6:00 p.m. Food trucks, vendors, live music, kids
activities, and outdoor dining areas for local restaurants will line the street.
Residents and out-of-town visitors alike will also be able to access exclusive discounts
to some of the town’s most popular restaurants through the Global Rhythms Passport,
which is available at OneRockland.com. The passport gives visitors the opportunity to
sign up for participating restaurant specials and encourages guests to explore the
incredible variety of dining options that make Clarkstown one of the most diverse
culinary destinations in the region.
Families with young soccer players won't want to miss the free youth soccer clinics
taking place from noon until 2:00 p.m. on the site of the former Grace Baptist Church
property on Demarest Avenue. The Clarkstown Soccer Club and Kids United will lead
the clinics, providing children with an opportunity to learn new skills, meet local
coaches, and enjoy the game that unites communities across every continent. Whether
your child is stepping onto the field for the first time or already dreaming of scoring the
winning goal in a future World Cup, the clinics will offer something fun at a wide variety
of skill levels.
The centerpiece of the day, however, arrives at 3:00 p.m. when fans gather for the
World Cup Final Viewing Party. The match will be broadcast live on a giant 16-foot LED
screen located at the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street, creating a community
viewing experience unlike anything Clarkstown has ever hosted before. Downtown
Nanuet will feel like the public squares and city centers around the world where
supporters gather to cheer for their nations and celebrate this beautiful sport together.
But the Rockland Global Rhythms Soccer Festival and Block Party is about more than
soccer. It is a celebration of both our diversity and the common bonds that unite us.
Whether you're a diehard soccer fan, a devoted foodie, or simply looking for a
memorable summer outing, July 19th promises something for everyone.
So please, join us in downtown Nanuet for this very special event and be part of a
tremendous day of family fun, live music, international flavors, and World Cup
excitement right here on Main Street.
