Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker and the men and women of the Clarkstown Police Department welcome you.

The Clarkstown Police Department has 162 sworn police officers and 70 civilians and crossing guards. CPD continues its mission to keep you, your family and our community safe, so that residents and visitors feel safe. Our vision of being the safest town in America is built around a strong commitment to community policing. Chief Wanamaker’s emphasis is continued efforts to reduce crime, increase attention to traffic safety and quality of life initiatives, and improve efficiency and effectiveness through professional development. The hallmark of the Chief’s policing policy is “Community First”.

Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker started his police career with the Clarkstown Police Department in 1987. Since joining the department he has been assigned as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, patrol sergeant, special operations sergeant, patrol lieutenant, administrative lieutenant and captain. Chief Wanamaker has proudly volunteered as a member of the departments Honor Guard.

Chief Wanamaker earned his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1983 and a Master’s degree from Seton Hall University in 1991. Chief Wanamaker is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Police Academy Session 262 and an active member of the Rockland County Chiefs Association. He has received numerous awards and citations throughout his career.

Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker is a long time resident of Clarkstown and is married with three children.
