New City, NY – Today, Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann and the Town Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an all inclusive playground at Lake Nanuet. This new 10,000 square foot playground will have accessible equipment for children and families of all abilities.
The new playground at Lake Nanuet is part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to improve recreational facilities throughout Clarkstown. In the last five years, the town has renovated or added playgrounds at Congers Lake, West Nyack Hamlet Green, Councilman Mark Woods at Zukor, and recently broke ground in Central Nyack. In addition, the town has built new turf soccer and multipurpose fields at Zukor and Germonds Park, as well as turf baseball/softball fields at Zukor, Germonds, and Lake Nanuet. Other recreational upgrades throughout the town included new pickleball courts, the Central Nyack community garden, new exercise equipment at the community centers, and maintenance of building and pool infrastructure.
Supervisor George Hoehmann said, “I am delighted to announce this new playground at Lake Nanuet, which will provide a place for families and children of all abilities to gather and make memories. Lake Nanuet is one of the true gems of our town parks system and this new playground will truly enhance our recreational facilities.”
