Clarkstown Fire Departments to Participate in Statewide “RecruitNY” Weekend to Help Increase Volunteers

(New City, NY) – Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann announces his support for the Town’s volunteer fire departments recruitment efforts this weekend. Five fire departments will open their doors to residents, so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter in Clarkstown as part of the sixth annual RecruitNY statewide initiative.

As part of RecruitNY, on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, the following fire departments will join volunteer fire departments all across the state at their respective firehouses for a unified recruitment drive. Not only will RecruitNY be an opportunity to highlight the rewards and responsibilities that come with being a volunteer firefighter, it will also raise public awareness about the need for volunteers.

“As Supervisor, I am so grateful for the work and dedication of our volunteer fire fighters,” said Supervisor Hoehmann. “Our fire departments are working to bolster its emergency responder numbers so it can continue to provide the optimum level of protection for our residents.”
